CAPTIVITY VICTIMS
Some time ago, I had the chance to visit a reserve in the province of San Juan, Argentina. This photography project led me to encounter a series of animals that had been victims of captivity and, fortunately, had been rescued by this dedicated reserve
As I wandered through the place, I was moved by the individual stories of these animals. Many of them had been kept in inhumane conditions, confined to tiny cages, deprived of their freedom and the life they deserved. Through the commitment of the reserve's caretakers, they had found a safe place to live, but I also realized that their situation was complex
They had become so humanized by their past experiences that it became extremely difficult for them to be reintegrated into their natural habitat. These animals had lost the ability to fend for themselves, leading to a life marked by dependence and sadness. As I explored the site, I could sense the emotional burden they carried
This project deeply made me reflect on how the whims of a few individuals can have such a devastating impact on these animals' lives. The pursuit of exoticism and the demand for exotic pets have resulted in the capture and captivity of these majestic creatures. As a result, their lives are plunged into unfathomable sadness
At the end of this experience, I was left with a sense of responsibility and a desire to raise awareness about the consequences of our actions. We must question our choices and consider the well-being of these living beings before engaging in any form of animal exploitation. Only through respect and protection of wildlife can we prevent more animals from enduring a depressive and freedom-deprived life.
Thanks for watching :)
